The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) comprises the two Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao, and nine municipalities in Guangdong Province. The total area is about 56,000 square kilometres with a total GBA population of over 88 million.

According to the latest data provided by the governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, the total population of the GBA has exceeded 88 million, and the regional gross domestic product (GDP) has exceeded RMB 15 trillion.
The development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a major development strategy in the country''s reform and opening up in the new era, and is of great significance to the country''s implementation of innovation-driven development and adherence to reform and opening up.
