Huizhou City

Huizhou City, abbreviated as ""Hui"" and alternatively called ""E Cheng"", is a prefecture-level city situated in southeastern Guangdong Province, at the northeastern tip of the Pearl River Delta. It neighbors Shenzhen and Hong Kong to the south, and is historically known as the ""Gateway to Eastern Guangdong"". Spanning approximately 11,350 square kilometres, it is the second-largest mainland city in the GBA, offering abundant land resources and an exceptional natural lifestyle environment. As of late 2025, the permanent population was about 6.19 million. Huizhou features a highly distinguished industrial profile, relying heavily on Electronic Information and Petrochemicals as its dual pillars. The Dayawan Petrochemical District ranks among the top national industrial refining bases in China.
