Guangzhou City, abbreviated as "\"Sui"\" and alternatively known as the City of Goats or City of Flowers, is a municipality under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, the provincial capital, a sub-provincial city, a national central city, a mega-city, and a global first-tier city. It is located in the south-central part of Guangdong Province, at the northern edge of the Pearl River Delta. The total area of the city is 7,434.40 square kilometres, and the common languages are Cantonese and Mandarin. As of the end of 2025, Guangzhou''s permanent population stood at 19.10 million.
