Zhuhai City
Zhuhai is located in the south-central part of Guangdong Province, bordering Macao. Established as an economicç¹å in 1980, Zhuhai has 5 land ports and is the only mainland city linked to both Hong Kong and Macao by land.
Zhuhai City is a prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province, situated on the west bank of the Pearl River estuary. It shares maritime and land borders with Macao and is connected directly to Hong Kong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. As of mid-2024, Zhuhai spans a land area of 1,725.07 square kilometres, with an expansive sea area within its baseline of 9,348 square kilometres. By the end of 2024, the permanent population was approximately 2.51 million.
Zhuhai is one of the earliest economic zones established in China and operates as a prominent port city. It boasts 5 land ports including Gongbei, Hengqin, Qingmao, and the HZMB highway port, making it the second largest port city in China after Shenzhen. The municipal economy features four core industries: new information technology, new energy, integrated circuits, and biomedicine/health.
